Your answer would be a big NO!
In spite of a negative national media that
regales in showing Bihar in poor lights; we
Biharis keep going on - like the Energizer bunny
- nothing stops us from reaching our goals. Be
it technology, administrative services,
medicine, engineering, art, film, music, and of
course, politics - we have showed the world that
we are second to none. Sure we have problems,
sure our state lags behind many other states in
economic terms, sure we have crime but don't the
other states have the same problems? Sadly, they
do. Yet only Bihar gets the bad rap in the
national press.
Where do we start? Buddha, Mahavir, Ashok,
Rajendra Prasad, Loknayak JP, Shatrughan Sinha,
Shekhar Suman, ADG Abhayanand, Acharya Kishore
Kunal - the list could go on and on.
What is even more interesting is the names that
you and I do not know. There are countless
Biharis who have helped shape this world from
their sacrifice and deeds in so many ways; who
sit on the top position in multinational
companies without the rest of the world knowing
about them; whose work in art and literature |
have crossed the oceanic boundaries to
be appreciated by those who are in the
know - but we hardly ever hear about
them.
This section of the PatnaDaily.Com is to honor
such people who have transcended the degrading,
press-created 'Oye Bihari' label to reach a
height that the speaker of such derogatory term
could not even dream of, much less achieve.
As a visitor of PatnaDaily.Com, we ask you to
send your nomination for PD Bihar Hall of Fame.
There's only one condition - it must be approved
by the PD team before being published. A
high-salaried CEO and a nice bungalow in the Bay
area is great but that alone is not enough to be included in
this section. Your work must somehow positively affect the
lives of many for you to be considered for this
Bihar Hall of Fame.
