Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, at the end of the Wild-life Week' on Monday inaugurated the Wild-life Education Center at Patna's Sanjay Gandhi Botanical and Zoological Garden with the goal to stimulate interest in birds and animals among the children.
Zoo Director Nand Kishore, on the occasion, made a presentation on the education center. Talking to the reporters, Kishore said that the ground floor was named 'Interpretation Center' while the first floor was the 'Education Center'. In the Interpretation Center, visitors, particularly the children, would be able to learn about different species of animals.
Two days a week on Saturdays and Sundays, classes would be offered on protecting the animal kingdom, particularly those animals that are already in the list of endangered species.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister gave certificates and mementos to young participants in various wild-life themed contests including painting, quiz, crossword puzzle, fancy dress, photography, and pedal boat race that took place earlier at the zoo lake.
