Patna: Winners of the four seats of the Bihar Legislative Council on Friday met with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at 1 Anne Marg, the CM's official residence, as required by the tradition of both houses.
While the ruling Janata Dal – U won the two seats it had fielded its candidates from, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and sitting Chairperson of the Bihar Legislative Council Awadhesh Narayan Singh and Sanjiv Shyam Singh of the Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) also won from Gaya (Graduate) and Gaya (Teachers) seats respectively.
Awadhesh Narayan Singh retained his seat by defeating Rashtriya Janata Dal's (RJD) Puneet Singh and Congress Party's Ajay Singh.
BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Sushil Kumar Modi thanked Nitish Kumar for not fielding a candidate at Gaya (Graduate) seat that, he said made it easier for Awadhesh Narayan Singh to beat the RJD and Congress candidates.
Sanjiv Shyam Singh also defeated his RJD and Congress rivals without any difficulty. Both RJD and Congress failed to win even at a single seat.
Both JD-U candidates – Virendra Narayan Yadav (Saran-Graduate) and Sanjeev Kumar Singh (Kosi-Teachers) defeated their rivals easily.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
