Deputy Chief Minister Blames Narendra Modi, Amit Shah for his Woes

Patna: Minutes after his bodyguards roughed up a few journalists and media photographers, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav talked to a group of reporters during which he flat out refused to step down from his post in the wake of corruption cases lodged against him, his parents Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi by the CBI.

"This is a grand conspiracy and a witch-hunt against me and my family hatched by the vindictive Narendra Modi and Amit Shah. Everyone knows these two people are very scared of my father Lalu ji but no one knew they are also afraid of me, a 28-year old youth," Tejaswi Yadav said.

Appealing to his youthful exuberance with no understanding of corruption, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the CBI was trying to implicate him in a case that took place nearly 14 years ago when he himself was 14 years old.

"I did not even had moustache then; what would I know about corruption? This is a blatant attempt to destroy our family and break the Grand Alliance in Bihar because Narendra Modi and Amit Shah are still not over after we gave them a spanking of their lives in the 2015 Assembly polls in Bihar," the RJD leader who, some in the BJP say, could be going to jail along with his father in a series of corruption cases, said.

Yadav, whose father remains convicted in multi-million rupees fodder scam case, parroted the talking point of Nitish Kumar saying he had 'zero tolerance' towards dishonesty and was committed to run a corruption-free administration led by the Chief Minister.

"The BJP is angry because I have been highlighting the broken promises of the Prime Minister. We will not rest until we have driven the BJP not only from power but from the country," he said.

Meanwhile, BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi slammed Tejaswi Yadav calling him a liar who, like his father, was corrupt to the core.

"Tejaswi Yadav lied when he said that he had not even started to grow moustache when he became the owner of 3-acre land which. He was a full-grown adult when his father gave hotel license to those who gifted land to Tejaswi Yadav. By saying he was a minor, he cannot cover his crime. He thinks that by abusing reporters, assaulting media photographers and calling them anti-national, people will somehow forget about his crimes and forgive him. That is not going to happen," Modi said.

The BJP leader asked Yadav to either admit or deny whether he was or wasn't the owner of the 3-acre land where a Rs. 750 crore mall is being built. He also demanded to know whether he was the owner of a four-storey building valued at Rs. 115 crore in New Friends Colony in Delhi.
