Patna: In spite of the collapse of the Mahagathbandhan government in Bihar for which he is largely credited, BJP leader and Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi is far from being done exposing the shady lifestyle of the Lalu household as he released even more documents to prove that Rabri Devi, wife of Lalu Prasad Yadav, sold three flats to one person just a couple of months ago in an attempt to evade attention from Income Tax Department or other investigative agencies.
"Former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, who owns 18 flats in one housing complex, sold three flats to one person on June 17 this year. This person has ties to the mafia that engages in illegal sand mining in Bihar. Rabri Devi sold these properties to avoid scrutiny from the Income Tax and other investigative agencies," Modi said at a press conference in Patna on Monday.
The BJP leader identified the man as one S P Yadav, a RJD supporter who, he said, obtained lease rights to mine sand in six districts including Patna, Bhojpur, Saran, Vaishali, Jehanabad, and Arwal with the help of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav for a price of Rs. 237 crore.
"Why would someone sell three properties on the same day to the same person for a price of Rs. 1.62 crore? The Lalu family should come clean on these issues and if they fail to respond within next 3-4 days, I would write to the Income Tax Department and the Registrar of Companies to find the truth about the sale of the three flats by Rabri Devi," Modi said.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
