Patna: The Lalu-Tejaswi father-son duo, at a press conference at their residence in Patna on Tuesday, said that until they were successful in getting FIRs lodged against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi in connection with the multi-crore rupees Srijan scam, they would not rest.
"We are not going to rest until FIRs are lodged against Nitish and Modi who were lying when they said they were not aware of the scam taking place. Nitish said that he found about the scam when a check bounced on August 7 but two checks had earlier bounced on July 10 and July 29. He knew about it but hid it from public knowledge for 27 days. He was telling my son to come clean on corruption charges against him so why is he not coming out clean on Srijan matter? He needs to explain to the public about charges leveled against him," Yadav, who came out as the biggest loser after the JD-U leader walked out of the Mahagathbandhan, said.
Not only power, money, and perks were snatched away from the hands of Yadav's both sons after Kumar pulled off from the ragtag alliance of RJD, JD-U, and Congress, the entire family is now under the radar of the Income Tax department and other anti-corruption agencies in connection with a number of high-priced properties obtained through dubious means and a host of other charges including money-laundering.
Accusing Kumar of colluding with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to avoid scrutiny in the Srijan scam, the RJD chief questioned the Chief Minister's frequent trips to Delhi between July 10 and July 26.
"He was promised by the BJP that if he walks out of the Mahagathbandhan, he would be given full protection in the Srijan scam," Yadav claimed though he did not offer any evidence to support his assertion.
Yadav's son and former Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav, calling Kumar the 'Bhishm Pitamah' of corruption, said that the CBI, under pressure from the Narendra Modi government, was not taking any action against the Chief Minister and instead, was focusing on him and his family members.
"We will move the Supreme Court to monitor probe in the Srijan scam," the younger of the two sons of Lalu and Rabri Devi said.
Recently reinstated party leader Shivanand Tiwari and Jagadanand Singh were also present on the occasion.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
