Patna: Bihar Road Construction Minister Nand Kishore Yadav on Friday said that the Station Road flyover would be open for business by the end of next month ahead of Chhath which would intersect the existing railway Mithapur-Chiraiyantand railway over-bridge.
The construction on the Rs. 167.85 core 854-meter bridge began in 2013 and is behind the schedule by at least two years.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader said that work on R-Block flyover would resume next week after being shut down for nearly a year and a half in the wake of a controversy related to faulty initial design of the bridge.
As far as the completion of the Mithapur railway over-bridge is concerned, Yadav said that he expected it to open for public around the same time as the Station Road flyover to accommodate Chhath crowd next month.
Addressing people's concerns about growing toll bridge taxes in Bihar, the minister said that the government will do away with all toll taxes starting April 1 next year for bridges whose construction cost have been recovered over the years since they were built.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
