Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) senior leader Raghuvansh Prasad Singh on Thursday took a shot at the upcoming party election of the office bearers saying the whole election thing was rigged as the party bigwigs had already decided who will get which post.
"This election is for show only; it has already been finalized who will get what post," Singh, who still hasn't forgotten how he was deliberately overlooked by party chief Lalu Prasad Yadav in 2000 when Yadav made his politically inexperienced wife Rabri Devi the Chief Minister of Bihar before going to jail in connection with the multi-crore rupees fodder scam.
Singh said this on the day when his boss was facing a CBI team in Delhi probing many corruption charges against him.
Earlier on Wednesday, Rabri Devi had called an emergency meeting of the party leaders at her official residence on 10 Circular Road in which she said that the RJD would be holding its election, including the new national President, on 20th November.
Another senior party leader Jagadanand Singh tried to downplay Singh's statement saying everyone in the party had the right to speak his or her mind and though the party election should have been ordinarily held in January 2019, it is being moved to an early date since 2019 also coincides with the Lok Sabha elections.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
