AAP to Contest on All 40 Seats in Bihar in LS Elections

Patna: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), that has barely any presence outside Delhi, announced its decision to contest all 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar in 2019 "to provide an alternative to the people of the state" that are stuck between the three or four major parties, AAP leader Rakesh Kumar Sinha said in Patna on Friday.

Sinha wasted no time in attacking Janata Dal – U President and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar saying he had single-handedly destroyed education in Bihar where corruption in the education department was rampant and the government had failed to check use of unfair means in exams making Bihar a butt of joke across the nation.

The AAP leader also accused Kumar of failing to hire qualified teachers in Bihar schools and colleges and further ruining the education by failing to pay salaries to teachers.

Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP has so far failed to make any inroad in Bihar despite some of former JD-U leaders joining it prior to the last Lok Sabha elections.

"Due to the failed policies of Nitish Kumar both under the Mahagathbandhan government and now under the NDA administration, we are in a much better position now to have a strong presence in the state than ever before," Sinha said adding the same Nitish Kumar who had vowed to destroy the 'Sangh Parivar' was now in bed with the communalists.
