Patna: Jan Adhikar Party (JAP) leader Pappu Yadav, while sitting at a dharna in Gardanibagh on Tuesday, demanded an apology from Union Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ashwini Kumar Choubey for saying that patients from Bihar were filling all big hospitals in metro cities.

"Choubey has insulted all Biharis by saying Biharis were occupying all hospitals in big cities. He should immediately apologize for his very insensitive statement and seek forgiveness from the people of Bihar," Yadav said adding both education and health care in the state were in the grip of mafia with the Chief Minister not able to do anything against them.

Borrowing a page from former Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP and a convicted felon Mohammed Shahabuddin, described Nitish Kumar as someone who became the Chief Minister of Bihar due to the goodness of certain people.

"Nitish Kumar is the Chief Minister because some people felt pity on him. He did not have what it takes to become a successful leader. First, he was at the mercy of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and then he was at the mercy of Lalu Prasad Yadav. Now he is back with the BJP because he cannot become a leader on his own," Yadav, sitting on a dharna in Gardanibagh on Tuesday, said.

Taking a dig at the Janata Dal – U leader who, much to the anger of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, recently dissolved the Mahagathbandan in Bihar only to go back in the NDA fold, the MP from Madhepura said that Nitish Kumar had no power over the BJP as was evident last Saturday during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Patna when he dismissed Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's request to accord the status of Central University Patna University's 100th anniversary.

"The Prime Minister had earlier rejected Nitish Kumar's plea to grant special status to Bihar and now he has turned down his request to accord Central University statues to Patna University. He may be the Chief Minister of Bihar but it is clear his power in the state and on national platform has diminished substantially," Yadav said.
