Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Bihar Governor Satya Pal Malik on Saturday paid floral tribute to Bihar's first Chief Minister Sri Krishna Singh at his statue at the Secretariat campus to mark his 130th birth anniversary.
Bihar Assembly Speaker and Janata Dal – U leader Vijay Kumar Chowdhary, Road Construction Minister Nand Kishore Yadav, legislators Shyam Rajak and Sanjay Singh 'Gandhi', former minister L P Shahi and a number of political leaders were also present on the occasion to pay their respect to Singh who was accorded the title of 'Bihar Kesari' for introducing a number of social reforms in the state.
A bhajan and prayer program was organized by the Information and Public Relations department of the state government.
Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders held a function in honor of Sri Krishna Singh at the S K Memorial Hall. Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, Meghalaya Governor Ganga Prasad, Central Minsiter Ram Kripal Yadav, and former Bihar Chief Minister and Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) leader Jitan Ram Manjhi were among those who participated in the function.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
