Patna: Atul Kumar, a senior official associated with the Bihar Entrepreneur Network ( BEN), at a press conference in Patna on Saturday said that BEN, in association with Bihar Society, Karma Society and a number of other not-for-profit organizations, will hold a Patna Marathon on February 19, 2012.
The goal of the marathon is to highlight the potential of the state capital that has a glorious past with tremendous future, Kumar said.
"Using human energy, we intend to send message to the entire world that Bihar is moving forward and soon it would join the rank of the developed states," Kumar said adding he urged people from all backgrounds to join the marathon on February 19 to make it a mega success.
Invitations to over 500 Biharis living across the globe would soon be sent, he said adding the marathon will coincide with the state-government sponsored 'Pravasi Bihari Diwas' that also concludes on February 19.
The 42-kilometer marathon, patterned after similar such events like Boston and New York Marathons, will give away prizes in excess of Rs. 1 crore.
