Picnic area opens at Ganga's diara area in Patna on Sunday.

Patna: Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi and state Tourism Minister Sunil Kumar Pintu in Patna on Sunday inaugurated the much-awaited picnic area in the diara area completely equipped with food court and cabanas for those who would like spend a day at the 'beach' with their friends and family members.

Built by the Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC) in an area of 24,000 square feet, the facility currently offers three thatched cabanas to those seeking shelter from the sun, six sitting areas, and a food court offering snacks made with utmost cleanliness.

With the BSTDC already operating a floating restaurant, it also offers speed boat, motor boat, and jet skis for a nominal fee.

"This is going to be a huge success among both young and old people as there is something for everyone," Modi said.

The entire area, opened between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm, is manned by security guards so people can safely bring their children and family members for a fun-filled day," the Tourism Minister said adding depending on the success of the picnic spot, more food areas and cabanas would be added to accommodate more visitors.
