Patna: With car sales skyrocketing in Patna in the last few years, The Mercedes-Benz India on Friday, in an attempt to grab a share of the pie, kicked off a three-day public display of its luxurious models at the Patna Golf Club.
With several of its models in the C, E, and S series on the display, visitors got a chance to take a closer look at the sports and family sedan line-up.
For those with a little ruggedness and outdoor spirit in them, the company had the famous GL and ML class Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) on the display.
Speaking on the occasion Hiteshwar Singh, the Managing Director of the Interkrafts Autocity, a Kolkata-based dealer, said that Patna was a booming market for automakers and it only made good business sense to give the people yet another option in the galaxy of dozens of both domestic and foreign models already available in the state.
Debashish Mitra, Mercedes-Benz India Sales and Marketing Director, said that the 12 models on display in Patna range between the price of Rs. 27 lakh and one crore.
'We are taking this road show to nine cities in India that have shown tremendous potential in auto sales. The idea is to allow the consumers to get a closer look at these vehicles, touch them and feel them before deciding on their next choice of vehicle," Mitra said.
It may be noted that the German Mercedes-Benz opened its first factory in Pune in 1995 with an initial investment of Rs. 650 crore.
