Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president Lalu Prasad Yadav, while kicking off his four-day anti-NDA campaign in Samastipur on Sunday, said that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was trying to protect the killers of Ranvir Sena chief Brahmeshwar Singh in an attempt to save its own face in view of the complete collapse of in law and order in the state under the current administration.
"The government is trying to save the killers of Mukhia ji. However, if a CBI investigation was conducted, the true face of the NDA government would be exposed," the former Union Minister said at Jitwarpur block in Samastipur district where he would be campaigning for next four days to resurrect his own political career.
Declaring the NDA government a 'total failure' on all fronts, Yadav said that atrocities on minorities under the Nitish administration had reached an all time high as Muslims and backwards were routinely being targeted by the police in the name of maintaining law and order in the state.
"The war against social injustices that was launched by me during the RJD regime has become considerably weak under the current administration and once again the backwards, dalits, and the minorities are feeling threatened thanks to the Chief Minister's pact with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the communal Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) outfit," he said.
On the issue of the candidacy for the post of India's Vice President, Yadav insisted that the tenure of the incumbent VP Hamid Ansari should be extended as Mr. Ansari had done a great job of fulfilling his duty since assuming the office in 2007.
