Patna: City police in Patna on Friday arrested a man for threatening to blow up the Beur Jail and for making threat to kill Amarjit Singh, the jailor.

The man was identified as Satyajit Kumar, a former computer operator at Barh sub-jail who used jail's official email address and password to send the email to make the threats.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Amrit Raj, at a press conference, said that after receiving the email two days ago, the police constituted a team to probe the matter. The investigation based on the IP address of the computer that was used to send the threatening email led the police to a cyber café in in Bhuneshwari Chowk under Barh police.

The police took Ajit Singh, the owner of the Ma Lakshmi cyber café in custody.

During his grilling, Singh told the police that Satyajit had come to the cyber café at around 2:00 pm last Wednesday. After briefly spending some time on the Internet, Satyajit left the café, he said.

Authorities arrested Satyajit from his home in Patna and seized the computers used to issue the threat, the SP said.

Satyajit told the police that he acted at the behest of notorious criminal Bhola Singh currently lodged in the Barh sub-jail. "Bhola, in a message, threatened to kill me if I did not send the threatening email to the Beur Jail," he told the police.

Police are trying to find any link between Satyajit, Bhola Singh, and Bindu Singh, yet another criminal with dozens of murders under his belt.
