Intermediate Exam Council employees protesting in Patna on Friday.
Patna: Hundreds of employees of the Bihar State Intermediate Examination Council in Patna on Friday held a demonstration outside the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) office to protest the government's decision to dissolve the Council and merge it with the BSEB to streamline the operation of the two bodies.
Calling the move misguided and 'anti-people', the protestors demanded a rollback in the government's decision saying it would result in the loss of hundreds of employments and would also mean a huge cut in the paycheck and perquisites of the employees.
Altogether 379 employees are believed to be affected by the merger of the two entities.
Though the government announced the decision to merge the Intermediate Council and BSEB on September 13, 2011, it is yet to become effective until all the details are worked out.
