CM Lays Foundation Stone of Bridge over Falgu River

Gaya: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, in Gaya on Wednesday, laid the foundation stone of the 557 meter long, six-lane bridge on Falgu River to be built at an estimated cost of Rs. 64 crore.

The foundation stone was laid on the eastern side of the river at a function held at the Bhusunda Cattle Fair Ground.

To be completed in three years, the bridge will connect National Highway 82 with the National Highway 83.

Speaking on the occasion, Kumar said that the bridge was long due since Gaya was a tourist destination with hundreds of thousands of visitors from a host of Buddhist nations.

The Chief Minister also announced the construction of a modern stadium in Gaya besides pledging to finish the road bridge over Morhar River in Paraiya that had been under construction for some years.

Bihar Assembly Speaker Uday Narayan Chowdhary, Road Construction Minister Nand Kishore Yadav, Urban Development Minister Prem Kumar, and Excise and Consumer Protection Minister Shyam Rajak were also present on the occasion.
