Burglars Ring Busted; 12 Arrested in Patna

Patna: Police in Patna on Thursday night busted a gang of thieves involved in a series of break-ins in the state capital getting away with hundreds of thousands rupees worth of electronic items including laptops, other computer accessories, cell phones and other valuables.
City Superintendent of Police (SP) Jayant Kant, at a press conference on Friday, said that based on credible information, a police team raided an area in Indira Nagar in Kankarbagh area and arrested a dozen gang members of a theft ring.
Arrested men hiding their faces from the cameras.Following up on the information provided by the arrested men, police raided a number of places and recovered five laptops, 25 cell phones, two computers, one monitor, three modem, 30 SIM cards, one head phone, several watches and one digital camera.
The SP said that the gang was using a minor child to gain entry into electronic shops through small holes. Once inside, the child would open the door or the window allowing other thieves to come in and clean the shop.
The stolen items were then sold to an electronic shop in R. K. Nagar owned by one Gunjan Kumar who would then sell them to unsuspecting customers, the SP said.
The arrested persons were identified as Raushan Kumar, Gunjan Kumar, Rohit Kumar, Samir Kumar, Nand Lal, Suman Kumar, Rajesh Ranjan, Jagdish Sharma, Kumar Vikram, Mukesh Goswami, and a minor boy whose name was not released.
