Sixth Accused in Delhi Rape Case Arrested; Protest Continues

Anti-rape protest by Patna Women's College students in Patna on Friday.
Patna: For the second consecutive day, women, school and college girls in Patna on Friday held several protest rallies to express their outrage over the gang-rape of a 23-year old medical student on a moving bus in New Delhi a few days ago.
Students of Patna Women's College and Mount Carmel School, demanding severe punishment for the rapists, took out protest marches on Bailey Road and Boring Road while also praying for the speedy recovery of the victim.

Meanwhile, a joint team of Bihar and Delhi police on Friday, arrested the sixth accused in the Delhi rape case from his home in Lahankarma village in Aurangabad district.
Akshay Thakur, who had been in hiding since the Delhi rape case exploded nationally as well as internationally garnering much attention from the media as well as top politicians, was taken into custody by the cops staking outside his home.
"We were hoping Akshay would eventually return to his home and our efforts did not go to waste," Pranav Kumar, Aurangabad Superintendent of Police (SP) said.
