Patna: On a day when the entire nation was talking about the serial bomb blasts within the Mahabodhi Temple in Bodh Gaya, Janata Dal – U president Vashisht Narayan Singh, at a press conference in Patna on Monday, was explaining how the party planned to tackle the anti-JDU propaganda unleashed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the wake of the ugly split within the NDA in Bihar.
Singh said that JD-U would not sit tight and allow the BJP to engage in propaganda warfare. It would counter the BJP allegations in the strongest manner and let people of Bihar know that it was not the JD-U that betrayed the NDA coalition but it was the BJP that created a situation that left the JD-U with no choice but to break ties with it.
The JD-U president said that the party had formed six separate groups of senior party leaders and workers that would tour all 243 constituencies in Bihar to let people know the 'real cause' of the breakdown in the NDA government.
"We will launch this statewide tour on July 17 and will go to each and every Assembly constituency till the end of August. The goal of this yatra is to apprise the people of the real cause of the split in the NDA and to strengthen JD-U all the way from the state to the booth levels," Singh said.
The JD-U leader further said that the six groups would also hold district-level meetings starting in September to counter rumors and lies spread by the BJP.
