Rival Gang Clash Leaves Three Dead, Ten Injured

In a land-related dispute in East Champaran district on Thursday, three persons were killed and nearly a dozen injured when one gang opened indiscriminate fire on another, officials in Motihari said.

The clash took place at Unchidih village over a piece of land that had been under dispute for quite some time, Vinay Kumar, Superintendent of Police (SP) said.

The police arrested six persons in the case and has filed FIRs against 16 un-named persons under Harpur police station. A rifle was also recovered from the site of carnage, the SP said.

All the injured persons were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Security has been tightened in the village to avoid any retaliation from the opposing gangs.

Meanwhile, in Sasaram, the police shot dead one Bhanu Singh Yadav who, on Wednesday night shot and killed a 12-year old boy who he said was urinating in his yard.

According to the report, when the police arrived to arrest Yadav on Thursday morning, he opened fired at them. The police reacted by firing back at him killing him on the spot.
