Father of RJD Candidate Absconding After Raids

The police in Bettiah in West Champaran district recovered two deer and a large accumulation of firearms from the residence of the father of a Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate Amar Yadav from Nautan following a raid at his house on Thursday, the police said.

Fearing large-scale electoral rigging by the powerful 'Papa Yadav' who alledgly has a long history of crime, the police, in a joint action of Bihar police and Central Paramilitary Forces, raided his hideout only to find out two live deer in violation of the Wildlife Acts.
Once inside the house, the police stumbled upon a large number of assault weapons including automatic rifles, guns, country-made pistols, and a pile of live cartridges, the police said.
Yadav also happens to be the chairman of the district board. He is also wanted by the police in over 100 cases involving murders, armed robberies, kidnapping, and extortions.
Raids are on to apprehend the gangster.
