Six, Including Employees, Detained in Bharatia Murder Case

Patna: November 11, 2005

The police in Patna have taken six persons, including some employees of the murdered businessman Vijay Bharatia, into custody while raids are being conducted to nab others. The entire investigation is being supervised and monitored by the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kundan Krishnan, officials in Patna said.

Officials said a number of other persons have been made suspect in the case including the supervisor of the factory and the role of notorious criminal Deena Gope has also not been ruled out.

Though the police remains tight-lipped over the ongoing investigation, sources said that a recent dispute between the management and the employees at the iron factory could be the reason behind Bharatia's killing.

Meanwhile, to protest the killing, all the shops in Patna City area and on Ashok Rajpath remained closed. Hundreds of protestors took to the road demanding protection for the businessmen and immediate arrest of Bharatia's killers.
