Dr. Mahendra Narain Foundation Holds Free Health Camp

Patna: May 2, 2006

About 300 persons received free consultation from leading doctors of Bihar for a variety of ailments including heart disease and hypertension at a charitable medical camp organized on the eve of the first death anniversary of noted physician Dr Mahendra Narain at Ram Krishna Mission campus here on Saturday.

An initiative of the Dr Mahendra Narain Foundation, free medicines were distributed among the patients at the camp which was inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi. IGIC director Dr S. N. Mishra, Dr Ranjan Akhauri, Dr Gopal Prasad Sinha, Dr Brij Lal, Dr V. N. Prasad, Dr A. K. Bhawnani, Dr Bimal Karak were among those who offered their services at the camp, according to the late Narain’s son Rajay Narain.


The foundation also organized a lecture at the L. N. Mishra Institute in memory of Dr Narain where Dr Ashok Seth spoke on 'Advances in Management of International Cardiology – Future is Here' and Dr Randeep Guleria of AIIMS spoke on 'Bird Flu – Threat of Pandemic' and warned against swimming in pools in bird flu affected areas.

Union Minister Subodh Kant Sahay and Rajya Sabha MP Ravi Shankar Prasad praised the efforts made by Dr Mahendra Narain Foundation for providing help to the poor and the needy.
