Floating, Air-Conditioned Restaurant on Ganga

Patna: May 14, 2006

The Road Construction and Tourism Minister Nand Kishore Prasad Yadav, on Saturday, at a meeting sponsored by the Chambers of Commerce, said Patna would be soon turned into a special tourism center and a floating chic restaurant equipped with air-conditioners and other luxuries would be opened on the Ganges to attract tourism and business.

The tourism department has already started work on both projects, including five more such tourism centers elsewhere in the state, the Minister said.

Yadav said that the Nitish government was committed to promote tourism in the state. Despite growing criticism of all talks and no work, the Minister insisted the government was following up on all the promises it has made to usher Bihar in a new age that would be based on new industries, tourism, and the state's fertile Gangetic plane.

The second phase of the new Chiraiyantand Bridge would be completed by December this year while the repair work on the Koelwar bridge would finish by the end of next month, Yadav said adding the New Bypass road would soon be connected with Patna City thus reducing the congestion on other roads.

The meeting was presided over by the Chamber president Motilal Khetan and attended by the secretary of the Road Construction Department R. K. Singh and a host of Patna's prominent businessmen.
