Criminals Accidentally Drop Bombs, Five Injured

Five persons, including women and children, were injured when criminals carrying powerful bombs dropped the bag containing the explosives causing a loud explosion near Begampur Chowk in Patna City on Friday.

Kundan Krishnan, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) said some criminals, at around 1:30 pm, carrying firearms and bombs to commit some crime, started to run after seeing a police patrol vehicle in the area.

In the rush, they dropped the bag containing the bomb causing a major explosion in which three criminals, a passing-by woman and a 13-year old child were hurt. While three criminals managed to escape, three others were arrested.

The innocent victims were identified as Munni Devi (age 60), Meena Devi (55), Kusum (13) and Julie (10). They were taken to the Nalanda Medical College Hospital where they were administered first aid and released.

The police also recovered three bombs from the crime scene, Krishnan said.
