CM Attends Training Camp for Panchayat Representatives

Photo by Shashi UttamChief Minister Nitish Kumar, while inaugurating a training camp of Panchayat leaders at Sri Krishna Memorial Hall in Patna on Friday, said all-round development under the NDA regime in Bihar would not be limited only to big cities but will reach each village and the village chiefs would have to play a vital role in achieving this goal.

"We want to see a financially strong panchayati raj for which a commission would be formed to maintain transparency in the system," Kumar said.

"A comprehensive list of people living under below the poverty line is being prepared and checks and balances have been put in place to avoid any type of irregularity in this list. Starting January 26, new schemes in the rationing and coupon systems would go into effect for people living under the poverty line," he said.

The camp was attended was 150 mukhias and over 2,000 panchayat representatives.

Among others present at the camp included Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator Nitin Navin, Dr. Vinod Kumar Yadav, Patna District Magistrate B. Rajendra, among others.
