BJP Meet Praises NDA; Criticizes Opposition
Patna: April 2, 2007
On the opening day of the two-day meeting of the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) working committee at Vidyapati Bhawan in Patna on Monday, party state president Radhamohan Singh lashed out at the opposition parties saying they had run out of valid issues and therefore were heckling the NDA government in Bihar on non-issues.
"People of Bihar are sensing the difference between the 15 years of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) misrule in the state and the 15 months of progress in all fields under the NDA government. This has beginning to bug the opposition leaders who have no idea how to counter the NDA's resurgence in Bihar and that is why they are trying to put obstacles in the government's way in the form of discontent over the BPL list, Police Act and other issues," Singh said.
The leaders also criticized the UPA government at the Center for being soft on the terrorists and failing to curb prices of essential commodities because of botched economic programs.
The meeting was inaugurated by the former Governor of Gujarat and party senior leader Kailashpati Mishra.
Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, Ganga Prasad, Dr. C. P. Thakur, Shahnawaz Hussain, and Kiran Ghai were among many others who attended the meeting on the first day.
