Four Criminals Arrested; Ammos Seized

Criminals arrested. Photo by Shashi UttamThe Gandhi Maidan police in Patna on late Tuesday night arrested three youths from S. P. Verma Road and recovered two country-made pistols, a large machete, and several live cartridges while also arresting another person from near Kargil Chowk with large cache of ammunition.

According to the Gandhi Maidan police inspector, a police patrolling unit spotted three young men on S. P. Verma Road. When they saw the police, they started to run raising the suspicion of the cops. They were chased down and when searched, the police recovered a large knife, two country-made pistols and some live cartridges.

The three men, who were identified as Bunty Goswami, Raju, and Amarjeet, confessed of their involvement in several previous robbery cases in Patna.

Meanwhile, acting on a tip-off, the Gandhi Maidan police arrested a man, who identified himself as Ganesh Prasad Jaiswal, from near Kargil Chowk believed to be an arms supplier in the area and seized a large supply of cartridges and two carbines, officials said.

Based on Jaiswal's statements, the police expects to make more arrests.
