Veer Kunwar Singh Rally Flagged Off

Bihar State Legislative Assembly Speaker Uday Narain Chowdhary, on Wednesday in Patna, flagged off the Veer Kunwar Singh victory celebration procession that would cover the entire Bhojpuri belt in Bihar before reaching Ara on April 23 to mark the birth anniversary of the 19th century leader and freedom fighter.
The procession is being led by the Janata Dal (U) legislator Asha Devi who said the 'yatra' aims to revive the memories of Veer Kunwar Singh while reminding the people of Bihar to come together in the government's efforts to rebuild the state.
The president of the Veer Kunwar Singh Memorial Services and Research Center Surendra Singh said had not Kunwar Singh led the revolt against the British in 1857, Mahatma Gandhi probably would have never resorted to Satyagraha.
Other leaders including Anjali Sinha, Devyanti Devi, Lalbabu Paswan and other party leaders were also present at the flag off ceremony.
