Patna: April 6, 2007

At a high-level meeting of the Patna University officials convened by Vice Chancellor Y. C. Simadri on Friday, it was decided that no cell phone will be allowed inside the examination centers to prevent examinees from engaging in unfair means.

"Students will be searched for mobile phones at the test centers. Those who are found to be in possession of the device will be fined Rs. 500 on the spot and those who are found to be using a cell phone inside the test center will be expelled from the university, Dr. Simadri said.
