Maoists Kill Two Railway Jawans in Jamui

Patna: April 7, 2007

Hardcore criminals the police described as Maoist guerillas in Jamui district on Sunday morning attacked the Howrah-Gaya passenger train and killed two Railway Protection Force (RPF) jawans before fleeing with their assault rifles and other weapons and ammunition, railway officials confirmed in Patna.

The incident occurred between Narganjo and Ghorpara stations in Jamui district.

The two deceased RPF jawans were identified as B. Ghosh and A. Bag.

While no passengers were hurt in the incident, three other RPF jawans received injuries in the attack and were taken to a hospital in Jha Jha.
