CM Wants BPL List to be Completely Error-Free
Patna: April 11, 2007
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, at a daylong meeting of his cabinet members at his official residence in Patna on Wednesday, reminded the ministers to work tirelessly in order to keep all the promises the NDA made to the people of Bihar.
The marathon eight hour meeting generated discussions on many issues though the problems related to the Below Poverty Level listing took the lion share of the meet.
"I don't want any headache over irregularities in the BPL listing," said the Chief Minister adding the list should be completely error-free and any mistake in it must be reported promptly to the Rural Development secretary.
Kumar also informed that the government was in the process of notifying all District Magistrates to open special cells in their respective districts to register complaints about any error or irregularity in the BPL listing.
"This list has to be completely foolproof," the Chief Minister said.
"People's expectations are very high and they have entrusted us with their confidence in our government. If we don't deliver on our promises, our regime will soon turn from 'sushasan' (good governance) to 'kushashan' (bad governance), he said.
