Thousands of CPI-ML in Patna on Thursday, in what was supposed to be only a preview of what was in the store for April 19 when they stage a statewide protest, took to the streets in protest against the Nitish-led NDA government causing a major traffic gridlock on Dak Bungalow crossing.

Demanding rectification in the Below Poverty Level listing, recall of the Police Act, repeal of professional taxes against carpenters, potters, washermen, barbers, and many others, and provisions for job guarantee, the protestors marched from the party office on Birchand Patel Marg to the Dak Bungalow crossing while bringing the traffic to a complete stop.

According to the police, nearly 500 activists were arrested on Thursday.

"We are going to intensify our agitation if our demands are not fulfilled, said Anita Sinha, one of the party leaders adding a statewide protest will be held in Bihar on April 19.
