Ranjan Yadav Ridicules RJD Leader's Charges
Patna: April 14, 2007
In a rare support for the ruling party in Bihar, former Lalu friend and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) national president Ranjan Yadav, on Saturday in Patna, blasted the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leaders for making false accusations against the Nitish government saying the RJD leaders were a frustrated lot and were dying to come back in the power by any means.
Taking a direct aim at the RJD leader and the Union Human Resources and Development Minister M. A. Fatmi, who on Thursday in Patna, accused the Nitish government of being indifferent to the educational needs of Bihar, Yadav said that the minister was making false allegations knowing fully well that it was during the 15 years of RJD rule that most schools and colleges were shut down in the state.
"RJD leaders are shedding crocodile tears but their attempts are so pathetic that it is laughable," Ranjan Yadav who once was known as the conscience of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, said.
"More than 50,000 schools were shut down during the Lalu-Rabri regime in the lack of adequate teaching staff. The Nitish government is now trying to put back education in Bihar on track by appointing more than 2 lakh new teachers yet these power hungry RJD leaders are acting as if they are the savior of Bihar," the LJP leader said.
Admitting that there was a need of accelerated growth in Bihar, Yadav, however, said that the destruction under the RJD rule was so enormous that it would take years for any government to put Bihar back on the steady path of development.
"Each step in the positive direction is adding to the desperation of the RJD leaders but by simply throwing antics at the current government is not going to help them nor they will ever be able to come back to power in Bihar," Yadav said.
