Fire on Train Wheels; Tragedy Averted

In what could have been disastrous for hundreds of travelers, Railway officials on Ara station ordered the Delhi-Guwahati 4056 Dn Brahmaputra Mail to stop when someone noticed smoke and fire coming out of the wheels of an air-conditioned coach on Sunday afternoon.

The train was passing through Ara at around 3:45 pm when someone noticed sparks coming out of the coach number NR 99101. Railway officials were informed who contacted the engine driver and ordered them to stop the train.

The incident caused a panic inside the train as travelers rushed to abandon the train at Ara station. As chaos ensued, the station manager Praveen Kumar requested the passengers to maintain calm and not panic.

After about half an hour of delay, the snag was rectified and the train was allowed to proceed for its destination.
