Youth Shot Dead in Phulwarisharif

Patna: April 15, 2007

Unidentified criminals on late Saturday night in Phulwarisharif shot and killed the son of a school teacher after asking him to come out of his house, the police said adding the criminals were probably known to the victim.

As reported, Rajiv Kumar, the son of a school teacher Arjun Prasad Singh, told his family members on Saturday night that he was going to bed on the ground floor of the house in Purnendu Nagar.

At around 4:00 am, neighbors woke up the family to inform that their son had been shot to death and his body was recovered just few yards from the house.

Based on the preliminary investigation, the police found that around midnight, some of his friends knocked the door and asked Rajiv to step out for just few minutes. At that time, he was shot twice on his face and head resulting in his instant death.

The police brought in crime dogs but they could not provide any clue in the case, reports said.

After talking to the victim's family and neighbors, the police believe the case could be related to a love triangle though the case is being looked from other angles as well.

No arrest has been made in the case yet.
