Anti-Cheating Measures Raise Students' Ire

Students lament cancellation of exams following anti-cheating protest. Photo by Shashi UttamHundreds of students appearing in an exam at the Patna Polytechnic center on Tuesday went on a rampage destroying school properties after officials caught a few students engaging in unfair means.

According to the report, when the college principal caught two men cheating in the exam, other examinees became enraged and demanded relaxation of vigilance inside the exam hall.

This led to an altercation and soon the students were seen destroying furniture and other equipment.

The exam for Tuesday was cancelled until further notification. At least two students received minor injuries in the scuffle and three persons were taken into custody, the police said.
