Police Dismisses Case against Sadhu Yadav, Others
Patna: April 17, 2007
The Phulwarisharif police, on Tuesday, dismissed a criminal case against Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Sadhu Yadav and three others in a case filed by one Bhubaneshwar Tiwari who had alleged that Yadav and his men had abducted his caretaker to exert pressure to give up a piece of land at Beur.
In his FIR, Tiwari had alleged that on February 16, Aniruddha Rai, the brother-in-law of Sadhu Yadav, along with six of his armed goons arrived at his house and destroyed a wooden fence in an attempt to redefine the land demarcation.
When Tiwari's wife protested, the men assaulted her and threatened to wipe off the entire family, Tiwari had said in his police report.
Later the same day, Rai and his men returned to Tiwari's house where they beat him and his caretaker Suresh Chowdhary before taking away Chowdhary with them, Tiwari had said adding all this was done at the behest of RJD leader Sadhu Yadav.
Shabir Ahmed, the Phulwarisharif police station in-charge, on Tuesday, said during the investigation the police found no evidence that supported Tiwari's allegations and therefore it was dismissing all charges against all accused.
