Seven Criminals Arrested

Determined to bring down crime statistics in their area, Kankarbagh police, on Wednesday morning, arrested seven criminals wanted in dozens of cases of murders and robberies from near the tempo stand and recovered several guns, rifles, ammunition, cell phones, and motorcycles.
This is the same gang that gunned down Jaganpura resident Anil Kumar at PC Colony in Kankarbagh on April 3, station in-charge Ramakant Prasad said.
Talking to the media persons, Prasad said that a raid was conducted after Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kundan Krishnan tipped off Kankarbagh police of the gang's scheduled meeting near the tempo stand.
All the arrested criminals are said to be the members of the notorious Harbans Gope who is currently incarcerated in a state penitentiary.
Anil Kumar was an accused in the murder of one Uday Pahalwan (Gope) and his murder on April 3 was an act of revenge masterminded by Harbans Gope, the police said.
The arrested men were identified as Santosh Kumar, Mitthu Paswan, Bhola Yadav, Mukesh, Yugal Rai, Bhola Sharma, and Lal Babu Rai.
In another unrelated incident, the Pirbahore police nabbed three criminals from near Kulharia Complex and recovered two carbines and dozens of live cartridges.
They were identified as Mohammed Zafar, Mohammed Amir, and Chittaranjan Mishra, the police said.
