Burglary in Mobile Phone Show Room

Patna: April 20, 2007

Criminals on late Thursday night broke into a Nokia showroom, hardly two hundred yards from the Kotwali Police Station on Bailey Road, and escaped with cell phones, accessories, and cash over Rs. 8 lakh, the police said.

As reported, the show room owned by one Mohammed Naushad, had opened only two weeks ago.

On Thursday night at around 10:00 pm, the owner closed the shop, double-checked the locks and left. However, when he arrived at the store on Friday morning, he found the locks broken and all cell phones and Rs. 93,000 in cash were gone.

Though there is a private security guard who is supposed to keep eyes on the Nokia show room as well as other shops in the premises, the burglars managed to break into the store and got away with everything.

The Kotwali police, along with the DSP (Law and Order) Amar Singh arrived at the crime scene and collected photographs and fingerprints from various furniture and the safe.

No arrest has been made in the case yet.
