Singh, at a press conference in Patna, was reacting to allegations made by the Bihar government that Union Ministers from Bihar were creating roadblocks in the way of development in the state.

"I am not going to take any unwarranted criticism by the Nitish government and if anyone accused me of coming in the way of development in Bihar, I will pull out their tongues," and angry Singh said.

"Crime situation is worse than ever before in Bihar. Extortions and kidnapping have become the order of the day under Nitish Kumar and then they have the nerve to blame us for Bihar's woes," he said.

Mr. Singh was in Patna to review construction of roads in Bihar under the Pradhanmantri Gramin Sadak Yojana (PGSY).

Meanwhile, angered by Singh's invectives, NDA leaders in Bihar demanded his immediate expulsion from the central ministry.

"The Central Rural Development Minister has completely lost his mind and that is why he is using such nasty language against Bihar ministers. This only shows his real face that how low he can stoop for the sake of politics," state Road Construction Minister Nandkishore Yadav said.

Janata Dal (U) national spokesperson Shivanand Tiwari lambasted Singh for using abusive words against Bihar ministers. "Such person has no right to occupy power in the country and must be shown door without further delay," he said.

"This man has utterly failed in getting the PGSY implemented in Bihar and now he is resorting to grandstanding by giving us lectures on development. Which government is pro-development and which government is not will be determined by the people of Bihar and not someone like Singh. He knows he will lose embarrassing defeat in the next elections and that is why he has become desperate and making nonsensical statements," Yadav said.

Tiwari asked from the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to clarify if he has allowed his ministers to use the language of criminals against others.
