Teen Recovered from Abductors; Four Arrested

Patna police on Friday recovered a 17-year old youth from a village in Nawada who was kidnapped by a gang of criminals on April 6 from his home in Sultanganj in Patna City and took four persons, including a woman, into custody, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kundan Krishnan said.
As reported, a special task force raided the house of one Mushtaque Ahmed at Giriyak village in Nawada and safely recovered Vikas, a class 12 student, while also arresting Mukesh, Manoj Rai, Mumtaz and his wife Taneeja during the raid.
Giving his account of his harrowing experience, the victim said he was lured away by the family milkman Manoj Rai and taken to Nawada in a Bolero owned by the mukhia of Pachohia village.
The kidnappers had demanded a ransom of Rs. 20 lakh but had agreed to release Vikas for a sum of Rs. 8 lakh.
The police managed to catch Mukesh Rai who admitted of his involvement in the case and led the police to Nawada.
Four criminals, however, managed to escape and is the police is looking for them. They were identified as Avinash, Sarfaraz, Awadhesh Mahto, and Pramod Kumar.
Meanwhile, there had been no success in the abduction case of 6-year old Ankit who vanished from Patna a little over a week ago.
His mother had threatened to commit suicide if her son is not returned safely by Saturday night.
