VP Visits Mahavir Cancer Institute in Phulwarisharif

Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, on Saturday, visited the Mahavir Cancer Institute in Phulwarisharif and emphasized the need for the awareness of cancer, early detection, and appropriate care to get a control on the disease that takes thousands of lives each year in the state.
Shekhawat, who was accompanied with Bihar Governor R. S. Gavai, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Digvijay Singh, Shyam Rajak, Prem Shankar Sahay, Uday Sinha, and a number of leaders and state officials, inaugurated the Cancer Control Center at the Mahavir Cancer Institute saying more than 30 lakh people in the nation were affected by the disease and constant research in this field was the demand of the age.
The VP also praised the institute for its continued efforts in providing invaluable medical assistance to thousands of cancer patients from across the nation.
Talking to the Bihar Religious Board administrator Kishore Kunal, the VP said he was very pleased to see him after a long time.
"At one time we used to see each other frequently but then Mr. Kunal suddenly faded out of the scene. I am very glad to see him again," he said.
