Photo by Shashi UttamSenior Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ravi Shankar Prasad, at the inaugural ceremony of the Provincial Working Committee meeting of the Panchayati Raj Forum at Thakur Prasad Memorial Community Hall in Kidwai Puri in Patna on Sunday said the nation was fast moving towards decentralization and that, in turn, would make the roles of local bodies even more important than ever before.

Appealing to the BJP-affiliated local chiefs, Prasad asked their full cooperation in implementing various schemes introduced by the Nitish government saying without their support the state could not think of making any progress.

The former Union Minister also asked the mukhias to create a database of all the works being undertaken in their areas and their progress chart along with any obstacle that they may be facing.
Guests were welcomed by Bikramidtya Prasad and Santosh Patel delivered the concluding message.
