Photo by Shashi UttamPolice officers in Patna under various factions scuffled with each other during the election of the officers of the Patna Police Association on Sunday leaving several contestants injured further blurring the line between the law enforcement officials and ordinary miscreants in the state.

The trouble started when the incumbent president K. K. Jha decided to proceed with the meeting in the absence of many members of the association. Pramod Kumar, a candidate for the post of 'Mahamantri' of the association, objected to the move leading to an altercation that soon turned into an all-out bar room type brawl with supporters of one group throwing chair on another and beating up other candidates and their supporters.
