Nitish Reviews Flood Situation from Mauritius

Patna: Aug. 1, 2007

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who is on the last leg of his goodwill trip to Mauritius, on Wednesday, summoned his top officials in his hotel room in Port Louis and reviewed flood situation in Bihar.

Kumar also held telephone conference with a number of flood relief officials and District Magistrates of various flood-affected districts during which he was updated on flood situation in Bihar.

Threatening to take severe actions against district officials in the event relief works were not carried out in a timely fashion, Kumar said he was constantly in touch with the District Magistrates and any accusation of neglect by the opposition leaders was baseless and politically motivated.

The meeting was attended by his principal secretary R. C. P. Sinha, Home Secretary Afzal Amanullah, and Information and Public Relations secretary Vivek Kumar Singh.
