Mokama Terror to be brought from Delhi to Bihar

Patna: Aug. 5, 2007

Following the arrest of dreaded Mokama criminal Naga Singh from New Delhi last Saturday, the state police is now gearing up to take him up on remand and bring him to Bihar for interrogation, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kundan Krishnan said on Sunday.

Accused in over 40 cases including dozens of murders, Naga was arrested after a fierce encounter in Uttam Nagar in Delhi.

Krishnan said the Bihar police, after the gunning down of Naga's close associate Mukesh Singh in an encounter in Barhaiya a few days ago, had been in the hunt of Naga Singh who was believed to be living with his wife and children in Delhi.

Based on anonymous tips, the Delhi police last Saturday surrounded Pankha Road in Uttam Nagar where Naga Singh was expected to commit a crime.

Following a fierce gun battle between the police and Naga Singh, the Mokama terror was eventually arrested and sent to the Delhi jail, the SSP said.
