Three Criminals Arrested; Firearms Recovered

The Kotwali police in Patna on late Tuesday night arrested three noted criminals with arms thus foiling a major robbery attempt in the state capital, Kotwali police station in-charge Abhay Narayan Singh said on Wednesday.

As reported, acting on a tip-off, the police surrounded Daroga Rai Path near Patna High Court on Tuesday night after it learnt of some criminals gathered there to put their robbery plan in action.

While two men managed to give slips to the cops, three men were not so lucky and were nabbed by the police and sent to jail.

Two country-made pistols and four live cartridges were recovered from the criminals who were identified as Premchand Rai of Maner, Sonu of Phulwarisharif, and Avinash Kumar of Raja Bazaar.

All three were wanted by the police in a number of cases of arms and auto theft and attempted murder, the police said.

The police is conducting raids to arrest the gang's remaining members.
